The Founder

Hello, my name is Eric Boateng and I am a 16 year old Ghanaian native residing in Arizona. This project means so much more to me than just providing Ghanaian students access to financial education. This project, means providing students like myself an opportunity to have financial success in the real world. As a Ghanaian immigrant, I have seen the stark contrast in education access, especially in crucial career and technical education fields like finance. About 32% of the Ghanaian population if financially literate. Because of this, I decided to couple my passion for finance and human service to change that. I started this project in 2024, not aware of how I was going to make this project work. I navigated challenges, hundreds of cold emails amounting to nothing, and feelings of hopelessness. Although the start to my project was tough, my motivation to help my people was tougher. I did not create this project alone, and with the help of my incredible team, we made this a reality. Cheers to transforming education in Africa. - Eric Boateng

With the help and guidance of Florence Nketia, CEO of Guide Educational Foundation and staff, I have been able to integrate into the curricula of 4 schools. Florence Nketia has impacted the lives of hundreds of students, and has helped me tremendously. From organizational planning to distribution, their guidance has been monumental in the success of the initiative.

Hauzeifia is our Ghanaian boots on ground ambassador. She makes frequent trips to these schools, meets with school administrators, establishes connections, and distributes our program amongst the schools. She has worked extremely hard because she believes in our mission: to provide access to financial education for all.

In the early stages of the initiative, Mrs. Pondy (Director of Student and Teacher Services at the Arizona Council on Economic Education) believed in the mission when there was no structure. She gave Eric all the necessary steps in organizing the creation of the initiative. Her detailed step-by-step plan in creating the mission statement, finding partners, organizing ideas, and creating an effective model proved important in the success of the initiative. Her guidance in the early stages was absolutely crucial, and TEOT is grateful for that.
