About The Equal Opportunity Trust
Our History
Founded in 2024, The Equal Opportunity Trust is an initiative created by Eric Boateng in collaboration with Guide Educational Foundation to grant Ghanaian children from various backgrounds access to financial education. By using coursework materials from his 2-year finance course, Eric collaborated with his teacher to convert various financial topics to fit cultural contexts in Ghana, an effort made easy due to Ghanaian lineage. The inspiration to create this initiative stemmed from the discovery of the financial education crisis in Ghana, in which he was inspired to take on the educational challenges in Africa, starting in his home country.
Our Mission
The Equal Opportunity Trust is an initiative. Our mission is to close barriers in financial education within schools in Ghana. We implement and advocate for financial education to be readily available in Ghana. Financial education is the future, and no child should have to pay a Cedi for it. We strive to equip every Ghanaian student with the necessary knowledge to succeed in the global economy.
Our Method
The coursework is summarized and put in paper lessons, where teachers then teach to students. Attached to each lesson is a test that can be printed out to measure content attainment. However, in Living Foundation Educational Complex, we make educational videos, and that's how they receive their lessons. Here you see our lessons on the desk of the Principal of Great Leaders, ready to be distributed to teachers.

Our Logo
Our logo, designed by Eric Boateng and engineered by Florence Nketia, encapsulates the mission of Equal Opportunity Trust. Inside the circle, you are met with the seal of the Ghanaian Ministry of Finance. The implementation of this seal represents our devotion to fit Ghanaian financial contexts. There is a Ghanaian hand holding a book that says, "education for all" in Hebrew, indicative of our core value of making financial education accessible for all. Our logo perfectly captures the mission at TEOT and our core values.
